The police said that they received a report at about 4 p.m. that a local woman was unconscious on a grass field in Ping Yeung Village. Police and ambulance personnel arrived at the scene and found the woman dead with a wandering Tang dog beside her. Boundary Police District Assistant Commander Chen Qize: "After checking the CCTV records, it was found that at about 2 p.m., the deceased had finished feeding the Tang dog on the outdoor grass and planned to put it back into the dog cage next to the kennel. However, the dog was unwilling to enter the dog cage and attacked the deceased. At the time of the incident, the deceased was the only one working in the hotel. Preliminary inspection showed that the deceased's head, jaw, neck, and arms had varying degrees of lacerations, as well as bite marks caused by animals."
