According to the Japan Meteorological Observatory, there was an explosive eruption at the Minamidake summit crater on Sakurajima at 8:59 p.m. on the 29th, and volcanic smoke rose to a height of 1,600 meters above the crater. As a result of this explosion, large volcanic blocks were scattered from 600m to 900m from the crater to the 7th station, and volcanic smoke was flowing south.
