The election for the Supreme Council of the Democratic Party of Korea has entered a close race to the last minute. Kim Yong, a candidate for outside and rank-and-file members of the party, closely followed candidate Han Min-soo, who was in fifth place, with only 2,312 votes and a 0.15% point margin, leaving open the possibility of a last-minute reversal. On the 16th, the regional primary was concluded with the Gyeonggi-Seoul Rights Party member circuit. Candidate Kim placed 6th with a cumulative 209,167 votes (13.62%), but was defeated by Han Min-soo in 5th place.
