A father in China who dug his own grave in preparation for his two-year-old daughter's death was able to laugh with her for the first time in nine years. The child, who suffered from severe thalassemia, regained her health after receiving treatment, and sunflowers bloomed at the grave she had dug for her daughter. Hong Kong's South China Morning Post (SCMP) reported on the current status of Zhang Xinlei from Neijiang, Sichuan Province, China, on the 13th (local time). Zhang Xinlei was diagnosed with severe thalassemia when she was two months old. Thalassemia is a hereditary blood disease that causes problems with hemoglobin production.
