The Chiayi County Party Headquarters of the Kuomintang today announced personnel changes and the nomination list for the first phase of the 2026 local elections. Legislator Wang Yumin has resigned as Chiayi County Party Headquarters Chairman, effective August 1. The vacancy will be filled by Chiayi City Party Headquarters Chairman Cai Mingming. In the first wave of election layout, a total of 7 nominations have been approved for 5 county assembly constituencies. For the township mayor part, only Minxiong Township has been approved, and the current township head Lin Yuling will seek re-election.
