Kuomintang legislator Gao Jin Sumei was suspected of fraudulently claiming assistant fees. The Taipei District Prosecutor's Office previously prosecuted Gao Jin Sumei and 24 other people in accordance with the Corruption Crime Ordinance and sentenced him to 12 years in prison. The Taipei District Court held its first hearing on August 25. Gao Jin Sumei did not attend the court due to his lawyer's schedule, and the judge has scheduled a summons for him to appear in court on October 27. The prosecutor pointed out that Gao Jin Sumei was suspected of fraudulently claiming public funds by falsely reporting the number of assistants and defrauding people. The total amount of fraud amounted to tens of millions, which was misappropriated to pay for family expenses, private business personnel expenses, and childcare subsidies. The case involves multiple office assistants, relatives and friends.
