The U.S. economic alarm bell has sounded. Senior financial media person Ruan Muhua pointed out that due to the sharp decline in retail sales in July and the weakening job market, the market has become cautious about the resilience of consumption in the second half of the year. Data showed that retail sales fell by 0.6% month-on-month in July, the largest decline in recent times, and non-farm employment performance was lower than expected. In addition, the U.S. household savings rate fell to a four-year low of 2.7%, reflecting constraints on spending power. Ruan Muhua warned that despite the support provided by the AI industry, if consumption and employment continue to decline and prices remain high, the United States may face severe risks of "stagnant inflation."
